►    We received the following email from Cynthia B., in Merrimack, NH:  “I enjoyed reading your newsletter.  We purchased a pool last year (from someone else), but I bought most of my supplies from your store because I appreciated having help when I was confused.  The newsletter made me feel as if you all are part of my neighborhood.  I will continue coming to you for my pool supplies and my moments of confusion!  Thank you as well for the letter you sent me early this month containing very helpful information about opening the pool (15’ above ground), and a very nice coupon.”

►    Advertising, specials, and department promotions continue from last week:  “Midsummer Clearance” .   This month’s color is ivory.

►    Saturday, July 20 is Customer Appreciation Day.  Free logo gifts with any purchase, while they last.

►    Namco has announced that they have secured new financing, and they expect to recover from their bankruptcy.  It needs to be approved by creditors and the courts, but most likely it will happen.  They have closed the Billerica store.  I put a copy of the announcement in the lunch room.

►    We removed the item number for the 15 x 26½ Armor Shield pool bottom.  Use the 15 x 30.

►    Pentair has stopped shipping the Minimax 100 Natural heater.  We warned you four months ago, and the sign and complete pool package has said it all summer.  Now we cannot get more.

►    All chlorine deposits were correct last week.  Only one refund without a name, but four Intex filters were sold without names.  Overall, very good job!

►    Two people researched us on Yelp last week, but they weren’t interested enough to call or see the website.

►    From Victor:  Ann C. called – She said Patrick O’Keefe (D&P) did a fantastic job (on her inground liner replacement).  Very nice.  Very professional.

►    Great job telling people about Pool School Lite.  You increased attendance from six or so (how many people usually sign up), to 26.  That is much better for the customer, and much easier for us.

►    Robelle is out of Intex ladders.  It looks like we won’t be able to get any more until spring.

►    Internet Humor:    Brenda is home making dinner, as usual, when Tim arrives at her door.  “Brenda, may I come in?” he asks.  “I’ve something to tell you”.  “Of course you can come in, you’re always welcome, Tim.  But where’s my husband?”  “That’s what I’m here to be telling you, Brenda.  There was an accident down at the Budweiser brewery…”  “Oh, God no!” cries Brenda.  “Please don’t tell me.”  “I must, Brenda.  Your husband Robert is dead and gone.  I’m sorry.”  Finally, she looked up at Tim… “How did it happen, Tim?”  “It was terrible Brenda.  He fell into a vat of Bud and drowned.”  “Oh my dear God!  But you must tell me the truth, Tim.  Did he at least go quickly?”  “Well, Brenda… no..  In fact, he got out three times to pee.”
