►    Customer Feedback: A Seasonal Service and Repair Card was submitted by Carla J of Hudson, NH.  She rated her hot tub repair (performed by Paul) as #10 – excellent on all points, and commented “Paul is a very knowledgeable and efficient worker.  Great job as always!”

►    Advertising, specials, everything continues from last week: August Clearance Sale.

►    Three people tried to find us on YELP last week, but none of them called or went on to our web site. We don’t have any reviews on YELP, so there is nothing for them to see.

►    All chlorine deposits and warranty items were good for the last two weeks, but there was one $70 cash refund without a manager’s authorization. Over all, great job!

►    Customer Appreciation Day is next Saturday, August 10. Free logo gifts with a purchase.

►    Remember, clearance prices end when we get low – not necessarily out. So never assume it will be this cheap tomorrow. We also never lower prices during the August Clearance. Everything is as low as it will go; so buy now!

►    If you receive Seasonal News at home, please write the date received on it, and give it to me. If you want one for yourself, take a store copy. I need to track reception dates and printing quality.

►    The spa regular and sale price pages have been revised to fix some problems in par pricing. Nothing changed for the customer. Some par amounts went up, some went down, so they make more sense.

►    From Anne-Marie:

Please remember when entering new customers in RetailPro, no punctuation should be used. Phone numbers should be entered with area code and number, no parenthesis, dashes or spaces.  Names should not have punctuation, either.  So O’Hara would be entered as OHARA.  St. Laurent would be entered as ST LAURENT.

The opening manager will notice that Register 1 will now have a weird message on it first thing in the morning to the effect that “2 files were corrupt and not reconstructed.”  Just “X” out of that program and close it.  I was remoting in nightly to do reconstructs from home, but now I have put it in the schedule to automatically run every morning at 4 a.m.  If you notice there are more than 2 files that have not reconstructed, write down the names of the files and leave it in my mailbox; or call me if something is not working correctly.

►    Crime is for Dummies: A guy walked into a little corner store with a shotgun and demanded all of the cash from the cash drawer. After the cashierput the cash in a bag, the robber saw a bottle of scotch that he wanted behind the counter on the shelf. He told the cashier to put it in the bag as well, but the cashier refused and said, “Because I don’t believe you are over 21.” The robber said he was, but the clerk still refused to give it to him because she didn’t believe him. At this point, the robber took his driver’s license out of his wallet and gave it to the clerk. The clerk looked it over and agreed that the man was in fact over 21 and she put the scotch in the bag. The robber then ran from the store with his loot. The cashier promptly called the police and gave the name and address of the robber that he got off the license. They arrested the robber two hours later.
