►    A Seasonal Specialty Stores Report Card was received from Phillip N in Hudson, NH.  He stated that her general shopping experience with us was Excellent.  “Patrick always has the right answers and great advice.”  Sales help, operations, communication and products were all rated Excellent.  Pool School, In-store advice and free water testing were all rated Excellent.  He would recommend us to a friend.  “One stop shopping for swimming pools.”  What do we do really well?  “Making your customers feel comfortable.  Taking the time to not only sell, but explain.”

►    Advertising, specials, and everything else continues from last week:  “Family Fun Sale”

►    Happy Birthday to Anne-Marie on Friday, January 24.

►    Assume that people do not read signs, but they do think badly of stores that look like they are going out of business.  So apologize to every customer about the look of the store as we prepare for the floor repairs.  We are likely to look like this for more than a month.

►    We now have Senior Citizen and Military discounts but only through the Reward$ program.  People 65 or older, current military or former military can apply for their Reward$ points to be doubled.  There is an application at the registers they can sign, and you write down their identification proof.  That goes to the office, and Anne-Marie changes their account.  They only need to apply once, and then we permanently change their account.

►    Added by Dennis:  This is from a very old Reader’s Digest.  How can you tell?  A reader in the 1960’s thought this man was at home.  But you envisioned him being in a hospital – because why would a doctor be in the man’s room at home?  You’ve never had a doctor make a “house call”!
