►    The Apollo Plus and Atlantis rebates end Sunday, July 31st.  The Apollo continues for one more month. You have new signs someplace.

►    Customer Feedback:  Customer Aram M. filled out a Seasonal Service and Repair Report Card.  He rated Paul & Patrick for a safety cover installation.  It was a warranty replacement on a cover that was purchased from us. From how the initial call was handled to good workmanship and safety – all categories were rated “10” as Excellent. When asked what else the customer would like us to know, he wrote “Pat & Paul took care of the pool cover resolution which required the installation of safety cover grommets to handle 2 straps not original to replacement.”

►    Advertising, specials, and promotions all change on Sunday, August 1st for the August Clearance Sale. The newsletter and the Reward$ email should go out about August 1st.

►    Events during the next couple of weeks:

August 1:  August Clearance Sale begins.  Get them while they’re hot!

August 6-7:  Customer Appreciation Day: Free Gifts with any purchase, while they last.

►    Remember, clearance means clearance. Buy it now because we could run out, or even sell more than we expected and have to raise the price.

►     I found photocopies of coupons in the coupon tray, but they were not made by the office. How do I know? Because we mark them “copy” so that we know the customer did not provide an original, so we can investigate when we see large amounts of duplicate coupons. Why so many?  What did we do wrong? So the moral is, don’t make them without permission or at least do it correctly.

►     Intex seems to be changing copy on their filter boxes. They rate their filters at the same pump rate as always, which matches their price list and their website. They also have another number that they shows “turnover rate” or “pool rate” depending on the box. Most likely the pump rate is the rate of the pump by itself, and the other rate is after it has been slowed down by back pressure. I can’t find anyone there who can answer! I changed our sign and RetailPro to show both rates.

►     From Anne-Marie:  Just a reminder that if you leave a note to me in my mailbox, please sign it.  I can’t tell you how many Mondays I play the guessing game of “who wrote this?”   Thank you.

►    All In A Day’s Work by Reader’s Digest:

Librarians may be shy, but their patrons aren’t.  Look at their oddball requests:

  • A patron offered me $100 to steal a cactus from somebody’s yard.
  • A patron wanted me to find a book to teach her dog German.
  • A patron on his way to the casino asked to rub my red hair for luck.
  • A patron once asked me for my home phone number so she could call me with reference questions when I wasn’t at work.
