August 31: Pool School 304 ~ Inground Pool Closing, 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM
► Customer Feedback: Customer Rhonda C. from N. Chelmsford, MA rated her general shopping experience with us as Excellent. “Mia was patient and put up with our indecisiveness.” Did any of our team members do an usually good job? “Mia, patient, listened to what we wanted and didn’t mind taking her time.” Sales help, operations, and product performance were all rated Excellent. “Warehouse was very good at pickup.” Communication was rated Fair. “This is where we had a problem. Once we ordered, the communication was dicey.” She would recommend us to a friend. What can we do to improve? “Prepare the customer that it could take much longer to get the product than you say. Have one person communicate with the client, not several. I think this is where the communication gets lost.” What do we do really well? “The sales people, especially Mia, were fantastic!”
► Advertising, specials, and department sales continue from last week: “Final Sale”
► Above Ground Closing class is coming up: Wednesday, August 24. Tell everyone. Even if you have taken care of a pool for years, we can make it easier.
► Happy Birthday to Jim, on Sunday, August 21st.
► The game table program has had its first revision, and prices have changed: some up, some actually down. In a month or so, I expect to see a revision with some new tables. The pool table program has also changed, Legacy prices mostly went down. A couple of tables went on clearance. I think this is the final change, but I expect to find out for sure on August 30 or so.
► Sales people would be well-advised to look at the new pool and game table prices before your customer looks at them. It may keep you from being embarrassed and maybe even sell more.
► VERY IMPORTANT. Deadline is August 24. Online voting is open for Best of Souhegan Valley. It would be nice if we won. You might think that we are a very good store, but we have been losing to other stores in the similar Best of Greater Nashua contest. So please vote for us. Go into www.cabinet.com, click on the Best Of logo on the upper right, and you will go to the ballot. But to count, you need to vote for at least 25 total companies in other categories. And they have to be from Amherst, Bedford, Brookline, Hollis, Lyndeborough, Merrimack, Milford, Mont Vernon, or Wilton. Thank you.
► The Wells Fargo rate signs have changed because they sent out a required change. The new signs are green, so if you see any pink ones, replace them. The only change for you is the $50 fee we pay when you submit an application by fax instead of online.
► From Patrick: A reminder: Water testing is everyone’s responsibility. If you know how to do them, then you can help.
► Life in These United States by Reader’s Digest:
While volunteering in a soup kitchen, I hit it off with a very attractive single man. It was a relief, since my mother and I always laughed because the men to whom I was drawn were inevitably married. So, optimistic about my chances, I asked my new friend what he did for a living. He replied, “I’m a priest.”
