►    Customer Feedback:  An anonymous customer rated their general shopping experience with us as Excellent.  Did any of our team members do an usually good job? “Patrick – Always takes time to answer and importantly, explain answers very honestly, helpful – though all employees seem that way.” Sales help, operations, and product performance were all rated Excellent.  Communication was rated Good.  They would recommend us to a friend.  In Store Advice and Water Testing were both rated Excellent.

►    All advertising, etc. continues for a few more days. The August Clearance Sale ends on Wednesday, August 31 – right after Pool School. Then on Thursday, September 1, we start everything new: “Winter Pool Covers”.

September 17:  Happy Birthday Erica:  FREE birthday cake in the coffee shop, while supplies last.

October 1:  Winter store hours start:  Mon, Tues, Wed 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Thu, Fri 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Sat 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Sun 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM

►    The Apollo Rebate ends Wednesday, August 31, and that sign should come down then.

►   The Winter Major Pool Supply Clearance will start after the August Clearance is cleaned up. Short answer is easy, “Read The Sign!”

►   It is impolite, verging on rude, to call a person on their phone and say; “Who’s this?” or “Is this ____ ?” or anything else     before you identify yourself. You are the one who called them, so first you say; “Hello this is ____ from Seasonal Specialty           Stores.” Then you say, “Is ____ there?” or “I’m returning a call to  ____ .” Please do not insult our customers.

►  We have a new Billiard Cloth Program in the Cloth Books. Eliminator cloth has been discarded. We have a new cloth: Championship Invitational. The chart of cloth colors has been improved. The description of Simonis #860 and 760SR has been dramatically improved. Have a look, before your customer does.

►    From Anne-Marie: I brought the soda can pull tabs that we have been saving to the Bektash Shriners on Friday.  I happened to notice that it looks like people are throwing out their soda cans without pulling off and saving the pull tabs. There is a plastic container on the bulletin board in the lunch room for that purpose, as well as another container near the green wooden recycle station in the store.  Thanks for helping out and participating.

►    I had dinner the other night with a half-dozen pool store owners. It was interesting to listen to them complain about their    help. They all agreed about their problems, and I kept thinking, “We had those problems 25 years ago. We stopped it, and my coworkers would never think to do that now.” Because we have a great group of people here. Thank you.

►    Life In These United States from Reader’s Digest – My five year-old son is crazy about cars, so I took him to his first car show. He loved seeing all the different models and brands and gushed over the big engines, the colors, and even the wheels.    But the car he was most impressed with was a hearse. “Mom” he shouted. “Look at all this storage!”
