► New pool covers are here. Now comes the part that we seem to get wrong every year. There is a correct, uniform way to label them that allows us and the customer to look down a long shelf of covers and find the right one. It includes covering information that makes it confusing, but leaving a code open so we can tell it’s the right one. They need to be stacked in a way that allows us to find the correct cover quickly, and that does not damage the boxes at the bottom of the pile. It would be really nice if we could sell the ones from two years ago, before selling the ones from this week. And how do we accomplish this? By reading the directions in the Operations Manual and by looking at the photographs. And asking questions. Thank you.
► Customer Feedback: Customer Marie D. completed a Seasonal Special Stores Report Card. Her general shopping experience with us was rated Excellent. “Always enjoy my friends at Seasonal.” Did any of our team members do an unusually good job? “You can offer Pat extra kudos if you’d like. He is on the ball.” Sales help, operations people, communication, and product performance were all rated Excellent. “I like the regular mailings and coupons too!” She would recommend us to a friend. “Absolutely, because you’re pleasant and most knowledgeable.” In-store advice and free water testing were rated Excellent. What can we do to improve? “Make it cost less.” What do we do really well? “Bring your customers into Seasonal’s “family” environment. Staying cool under fire, too.”
► New advertising starts Sunday, August 14: “Final Clearance”. Specials, promotions, and sales continue from last week.
► Events during the next couple of weeks:
August 20: Happy Birthday Jim: FREE birthday cake in the coffee shop, while supplies last.

► Remember: A clearance sale is first come, first served. Best advice is to buy it now, because we could run out, or the price could go up.
