►    We received a Seasonal Service and Repair Report Card concerning Paul’s service performed in mid-October.  We were rated 10 out of 10, Excellent, on all 17 points. Kim B. of Marlow, NH, states “I have been meaning to call to say how impressed I was with Paul in ALL ways – he was thorough, communicated extremely well and was willing to make sure everything worked – he went above and beyond.”

►    New advertising and weekly specials this week: Seasonal Beats Them All. Department sales will continue. Note that our prices totally dominate Namco. One example: their advertised sale price on 8 lb. Jumbo Tabs is $59.99.  Our price on 25 lb. Jumbo Tabs is $69.99. We plan to be here next year. They only hope to make it to July.

►    Time to start parking in the back lot on Saturdays and Sundays only, and only until June 30. Park only in the lines on the ground or on the guardrail. LOOK!  Where the guardrail does not have lines, don’t park there, or you will be blocking four spaces. There’s plenty of room – we have 28 spaces.

►    There is a space at the bottom right of every water test for Lab Tech initials and Reader initials. Put your initials there. If the Lab Tech does not do it, and management catches it, you don’t get paid your water lab bonus.

►    Happy Birthday to Seth on May 23. Birthday cake in the coffee shop on May 25.

►    Please dress in your Seasonal Best for Open House on May 19. We will be serving lunch, but you are not to eat in front of customers. Bring it to the lunchroom. We will also try to keep some there.

►    Remember, Monday May 27 is Memorial Day. We will be open, but only until 5 p.m. Please do not make 4 people have to work until 9 p.m. because you told someone something different. (From Anne-Marie: To closing manager – this will be one of those days where you need to put the phone system on “holiday” before you leave).

►    Congratulations to Stephanie, who graduates on Sunday, May 19.

►    We have new Reliant literature, for the auto pool cleaners (Sam and Vinny), Sand Filters, and Pumps. Should be in the racks by now.

►    New Hot Tub items:

  • Black Durastep. This will be our only generic, cheap step in the future.  $99.99
  • The other two are on clearance.
  • Wireless Remote Thermometer. Reads the temperature in your pool and spa, and you can read it in the house!  $49.99
  • Smart Bar. Very large, strong bar with a drawer; mounts on any spa.  $99.99
  • Water Brick. Inflatable Spa Seat, large, with a pocket for sand to weight it down.  $49.99

►    New Pool Item:

  • Look at the Wireless Remote Thermometer above.
  • EcoOne hose filter. Like the spa fill filter, but will filter 40,000 gallons of water. For filtering iron and impurities when filling a pool with a garden hose (not a hydrant).  $69.99

►    The GAME Filter is on a special clearance sale to make room. Now only $199.97 for a complete filter! Only two left.

►    Learn the complete Filter Program. We carry filters that are not in the store yet, but they are on the signs and in the Program Book.

►    A new “Complete Spa Package” is about to come out.  New clearance prices on steps.  New Resort and Spirit Steps.  A great new side table and a reminder to add a patio heater, fire pit, or cantilevered umbrella.

►When taking a credit or debit card:

1.  You swipe it, and keep it until the customer signs their slip, and you check the signature or driver’s license.

or

2. You take it, swipe it, and the customer enters their PIN number and it’s accepted. If it is not accepted, you hold it until it is, or switch to credit, and then check signature, etc. You do not check for a signature when the PIN is accepted.

That means you do not let the customer swipe their own card, because then you won’t get it back to check the signature.

►    Understanding Engineers #1: Two engineering students were biking across a university campus when one said, “Where did you get such a great bike?” The second engineer replied, “Well, I was walking along yesterday, minding my own business, when a beautiful woman rode up on this bike, threw it to the ground, took off all her clothes and said, “Take what you want.” The first engineer nodded approvingly and said, “Good choice:  The clothes probably wouldn’t fit you anyway.”
