►    We solved the problem of some of our pool tables being priced too low to put online.  We put a price list on the stock pool tables page of our website.  On the under-priced tables, we added a note that the customer has to come here to get a price.

►    Advertising changes Sunday, Feb. 15:  “Look at the Big Picture”. Everything else remains the same.

►    Customer Feedback: A Seasonal Service and Repair Report Card was received from customer Jeanne B., of Londonderry, NH.  She rated us Excellent on 16 points.  “Patrick, Tod, and Tod’s daughter, Kristine have all been a wealth of information to us.  Can’t ask for nicer, more professional people.”

►    From Anne-Marie:  Just a reminder that if you receive an email that has an attached file with a “zip” extension, please do not open it.  We are getting more and more of these emails, and they are getting harder and harder to tell if they are legitimate.  For example, some of them even look like they come from our suppliers.  Today we got one that was “urgent” from the Better Business Bureau – again with a Trojan.

For the cashiers: please do not change anyone’s email in RetailPro without letting me know.  When we sent out the Seasonal Reward$ award emails, many people’s emails bounced or were unsubscribed.  I mailed a letter to these people, and then I went into RetailPro and made them members of “Seasonal Sense.”  The only way these people can become Seasonal Reward$ customers again is for them to send me an email.  If the cashier just changes the “Seasonal Sense” in the email field on their record to their new email address, I have no way of knowing that, and they will not receive another Seasonal Reward$ Award Certificate automatically. If you have any questions, please let me know.  Thanks.

►       News of the Weird from the Hippo:

The cutting edge:  Among the filings published in November by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office was Google’s 2012 application covering a throat tattoo – actually a mobile skin “microphone” with lie-detecting capability, presumably to encourage truthfulness from people as they speak.  The application explains how to couple an electronic skin tattoo to a mobile device, using “flexible substrate.”

►    Internet Humor: Applying for my first job, I realized I had to be creative in listing my few qualifications.  Asked about additional schooling and training.  I answered truthfully that I had spent three years in computer programming classes.  I got the job.  I had  neglected to mention that I took the same course for three years before I passed.
