►    There were 24 One-of-These Awards for June; 9 for customer service.  Finalists were Rebecca (twice), Allison, Mia, Joe, and Jen.  That’s a lot for only 24 awards; and Sarah and Kristine could have easily made it, too!  Owner’s Choice and the drawing winner were both Rebecca!

►    Customer Feedback:  A Seasonal Specialty Stores Report Card was received from customers Kristi & Drew S. in Merrimack, NH whose general shopping experience with us was Excellent.  Did any of our team members do an unusually good job?  “Mia at Pool School, Joe in delivery, and Allison in sales.”  Sales help, operations, communication, and product performance were all rated Excellent.  Pool School, in-store advice and free water testing were rated Excellent.  They would recommend us to a friend. “Love the service and USA made products.”  What can we do to improve?  “Customers create a wish list and receive emails when it goes on sale.”  What do we do really well?  “Communicate.”

►    Advertising, specials, and promotions continue from last week:  “Hot Mid-Summer Clearance”. This month’s color is Ivory (but Gold in the Patio department).

►    Remember, we are on July hours now; closing at 8PM weekdays.  AND no more weekend parking behind the store.

►    Events during the next couple of weeks:

July 4:  CLOSED ~ Happy Independence Day.

July 5:  Kenny’s Birthday:  FREE birthday cake in the coffee shop while supplies last.

July 11:  Mia’s Birthday:  FREE birthday cake in the coffee shop, while supplies last.

July 15:  Pool School 103 ~ Pool Care Lite, 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM.

July 18-19:  Customer Appreciation Days:  Free Gifts with any purchase, while they last.

►    I have no idea when Quarterly Reviews and Bonuses will be done.  I will just pay them as I get them.

►    I am now completely out of half-way decent jokes; unless you have some to donate.

►    Only one mistake on chlorine deposits:  giving a discount on a deposit, and two warranty items without names.  Good job.

►    Ways to Maintain a Healthy Level of Insanity:

  • At lunch time, sit in your parked car with sunglasses on and point a hair dryer at passing cars. See if they slow down.
  • Page yourself over the intercom. Don’t diguise your voice.
  • Every time someone asks you to do something, ask if they want fries with that.
