► Customer Feedback: A Service & Repair Report Card was received from customer Susan P. from Litchfield, NH. She rated us Excellent on all points. “Paul was friendly and knowledgeable. We know nothing about our tub, and he instantly knew what we needed and helped us to understand what it would take to get it up and running.”
► This is the final week of May advertising: “Seasonal Beats Them All”
► Cashiers: PLEASE don’t send people to the pick-up door unless you are sure that we have what you are sending them back for (I know that’s a preposition, but I’m in a hurry). Because it’s a REALLY big pain when it’s not there – particularly if you put it on a receipt. What is likely to cause a problem? Liners, solar covers, solar reels. Possible problems: filters, pumps, automatic pool cleaners. You were the only person who could check, because you had the inventory right in front of you when you rang it up.
► Thank you to Mia for another very successful event. Mia doesn’t just come up with an idea for an event (“Let’s do face painting”), she comes up with a plan: Here is how we advertise it, who we expect, what we will sell, how much work we will do. Then she does most of the work! Great job!
► Another great week for chlorine deposits: All correct! Our other common cashier mistakes were either not made at all, or were very minor and arguably not a mistake. WONDERFUL JOB EVERYONE!
► Another Seasonal Reward$ email went out Wednesday, May 24: ending Saturday, June 3. The coupon is for $10 off with a minimum purchase of $100.
► When you do a water test, first thing, you put on a lab coat. Period. One test? Put on a lab coat.
► Salespeople: it is your job to have all of your tools available. That means the literature racks are full. That means there are plenty of folders in the rack. And the right literature is in the right slots.
► Rebates on Maytronics automatic pool cleaners May 26 to June 30. Factory Rebate – Patrick will apply for the customer.
► I think we ran out of wheel/caster sets for the 5300 solar reel – I’m waiting for that to be confirmed. We cannot get more, so people wanting a solar reel that wheels will have to buy wheels from Lowes or another store; or buy the commercial reel.
► Two tricks –
- The first page of the program book is an index that shows you the order of the pages in the book.
- Within the department, the pages are arranged alphabetically.

► Life In These United States Reader’s Digest:
On twitter, people sometimes say, “Why don’t you keep your opinions to yourself?” I go, “You’re following me. I didn’t tweet at you.” That’s like going to a notice board in the middle of town, seeing a sign for guitar lesson, and yelling, “I don’t want guitar lessons!
