►   From Anne-Marie: We’ve added a wireless scanner, keyboard and mouse to Register 1 for a trial before we change out all the other registers.  I’d like to know how you like it, and if the battery in the scanner holds a charge adequately.  We’ve also replaced our Sonicwall, which is our firewall to protect against hacking, malware, viruses and other intrusions to our network. I will also be working on installing new antivirus protection on all of our workstations (we will no longer use McAfee). In addition we’ve updated RetailPro to address the current bugs.

Because of this, if you are suddenly unable to access a website you’ve been able to in the past, please let me know. All of the permissions for the different workstation groups had to be recreated. If you notice that customers are suddenly not getting their Seasonal Reward$ points, I need to know (we completely reinstalled that add-in). If anything appears quirky in RetailPro, please leave me a note (or call me if it’s an emergency). It will be a few weeks before I get everything resolved.

►    Customer Feedback:  Mr. A. from Westford, MA had this to say about his recent experience at the store:  his general shopping experience was excellent and the sales help and operations people were good.  He thought our communication was excellent, our products perform excellently, and that he would definitely recommend us to a friend.  He also said that a particularly good job was done by “The folks that helped me at the loading dock.  The older gentleman whose name escapes me was great!”  Mr. Anderson finished by saying “Great job!  Thanks!  ☺”

October 7: Happy Birthday Ally:  Free birthday cake in the coffee shop, while supplies last.

October 14: Joe has his Twenty-Fifth Anniversary:  Have some anniversary cake in the coffee shop while supplies last.

October 25-31:  Halloween’s coming. Trick-or-Treat for some Halloween candy here, while supplies last.

►    The final Pool School Inground Class is Wednesday, September 27th.  Make sure that everyone who has questions on pool closing signs up now.

►   The Return Plug for outside threads (Olympic-style) is no longer available.  Customers will need to purchase our expansion plug or skip to a standard return.

►   Welcome to Robin, Tyler, and Steve; who have all started in the past two weeks.

►   The new Fire Emergency Procedures will start on October 1st.  That will also be when our management team takes over new titles and responsibilities, including Kristine becoming Assistant Manager.

►   Fun Fact/Trivia:  “RSVP” means “Répondez s’il vous plaît”; French for “please respond”. So the correct action is to tell whoever is inviting you whether or not you are attending.  “RSVP, regrets only” means “reply only if you are not coming”.
