► Another exterior color is being discontinued by Marquis: Mocha. We have changed the price lists to reflect that. It appears highly likely that there will be a lot of discontinued models, colors, and features around November.
► Open enrollment is coming up. Our health plan renews December first, so our renewal application is due by October 28. That means that if you want to join (and only if you qualify), we need your application by October 28, 2014. For questions, see Dennis or Jen.
► From Stephanie: Please remember to fill out the Closing Cleanup list correctly. It is your job as closing employees to complete the list, initialing every job that you complete. This does not mean check marks. The whole point of initialing is for managers or captains to check their completion and know who did what job. If you have any questions on this, please let me know.
► Based on the current Namco sale flier running now (posted in the lunchroom), I have created a spreadsheet on covers and winter kits at the Parts counter. Note: our regular prices are lower than their sale prices. Their economy covers do not even have ultraviolet protection, which obviously gives them a really short life in nine months of sunlight!
► FREE STUFF. The free samples box is coming out in the lunchroom. Get’em while they’re hot!
► Olhausen has issued a memo on lead times for unusual wood species and difficult stains during the Christmas season. We have reproduced it next to the Design Center internet computer.
► Why do I think that none of you are giving your customers the application for the $50 rebate on Cover Logix safety covers? I sent them to everyone who bought one before we received the applications. Unless I am expected to do it for every customer? I was kind of thinking that the person making the commission would be doing it.
► New, Improved Jokes: One night, a hotel caught fire and the people who were staying in it ran out in their night clothes. Two men stood outside and looked at the fire. “Before I came out,” said one, “I ran into some of the rooms and found a lot of money. People don’t think of money when they’re afraid. When anyone leaves paper money in a fire, the fire burns it. So I took all the bills that I could find. No one will be poorer because I took them”. “You don’t know my work,” said the other. “What is your work?” “I’m a policeman.” “Oh!” cried the first man. He thought quickly and said, “And do you know my work?” “No,” said the policeman. “I’m a writer. I’m always telling stories about things that never happened.”
