The best wood for outdoors is teak; no contest. It is heavy and dense with an extremely tight grain. It also has a natural oil in it that gives it long lasting beauty. Styles in teak are usually clean lines, classic styles, simple and elegant.
Teak is commonly used to build ships, a testament to the abuse it can take. You can clean and oil it to maintain it’s original color or let it slowly weather to a soft silvery grey color.
There are most definitely varying grades of quality in teak. Our Gloster line is grown in an environmentally sound plantation in Java. Their plantation has grown the finest teak for over 150 years. It’s really a treat to see this marvelous natural material in these simple, beautiful styles. Ergonomic designs ensure a chair that’s comfortable to sit in for hours.
For other types of wood, we also carry the Telescope Casual line of folding wood director chairs. They come in three heights: bar, counter and regular seating. You have choice of wood stain color and many cloth seat and back colors to choose from. If we don’t have what you want in stock we can UPS it to you from the factory in about a week.
We also carry Brazilian Cherry furniture. A durability similar to teak-very dense and hard. You’ll find the pricing about one third less on Brazilian Cherry but there isn’t quite the same array of items. All the basics are there for tables, chairs, gliders and benches.
